However, under critically high ambient temperatures, the production of Vitamin C in broilers is inadequate for optimum performance. PRIONS BIOTECH researchers have seen the beneficial effects of NATURAL VITAMIN-C supplements given either in diets or in drinking water. Supplements enhanced the performance of broiler chickens with experimentally induced hypothyroidism, reduced stress-related responses, and improved disease resistance of the birds.In nature, poultry can synthesize vitamin C from natural feed stuff through endogenous biosynthesis in the kidneys. However, the rate of endogenous biosynthesis is influenced by stress factors. During heat stress, there is a slow down of the biosynthesis process which leads to vitamin C deficiency affecting critical functions.
